Senior Case Worker, Bridge Programme — Kaitaia
The Far North (Kaitaia) Community Bridge Programme provides a service to those in need of drug and alcohol addiction treatment. The majority of clients are referred to the programme via the justice sector however we have a close working relationship with other local community groups who are using this service in conjunction with their work. We are in the process of developing this programme into a full time open programme and require the services of a senior Case Worker.
This is an exciting opportunity to work in an area of the country where drugs and alcohol use and abuse is wide spread. This person will be expected to take a lead role within the small team with minimal supervision and be willing and able to adapt to the ever-changing environment experienced in the Far North. They will need to be hands on and be able to adapt the Salvation Army Bridge Model of Treatment to the local culture and environment. They also need to be able to create and build networks with other NGO’s and Government Agencies, as well as work with Far North (Kaitaia) corps officers to develop links through the work of the Far North Community Ministries team. An understanding of Maori protocol would be advantageous.
This is a full time position, with funding initially approved for a two year period.
