Position Statements 

Moral and Social Issues Council of The Salvation Army in Aotearoa New Zealand

The role of the Moral and Social Issues Council (MASIC) is to study and formulate responses on significant moral, religious and social issues. Its purpose is to help empower The Salvation Army to take a proactive stance on such issues and to assist and support Salvationists in their decision-making in daily life.

Position Statements

One of the ways MASIC fulfils its mandate is to prepare ‘Position Statements’, briefly setting out the considered view of the organisation on moral or social issues of current relevance. These statements are not binding on Salvationists but are published for their guidance, and for the information of the general public.
