Church Based Programmes

The Salvation Army operates programmes in approximately two hundred centres throughout mainland New Zealand as well as in Fiji and Tonga. The programmes of the Army are established, sustained and resourced to reflect the Movement's mission statement of 'caring for people ... transforming lives ... reforming society'.

Because new needs and opportunities are always emerging - and old opportunities sometimes become no longer relevant - there is a flexibility about Salvation Army programmes. New programmes are always emerging and older programmes are being discarded. These factors, linked with the mobility that The Salvation Army seeks to demonstrate are important processes in the Army's processes in seeking to meet needs in our society.
