Red Shield Appeal Week
28 April - 4 May 2008

We're all in this together...

Each year the Red Shield Appeal Week allows The Salvation Army to change thousands of lives by helping individuals and families in need. The money raised enables us to provide our many community-based services - including welfare assistance (food, parcels, clothing and furniture), counselling, parent training, support for seniors, emergency accommodation, and emergency services.

Your donation will provide

  • crisis accommodation for families
  • beds for the homeless
  • food parcels, furniture and clothing
  • parenting programmes
  • addiction programmes
  • counseling
  • budgeting advice
  • emergency assistance
  • Education and employment training

No collector will call

This year—as in the past five—there will be no door-knock collection house to house. Instead, Salvation Army collectors will be visible in high 'foot traffic' areas, such as supermarkets, shopping malls and railway stations.

Appeal envelopes for householders will continue to be available. As well as delivering to every household letterbox in the country, appeal envelopes will also reach householders via major newspapers and magazine.

Collectors needed

Please call us if you can help collect for the 2008 Red Shield Appeal.

Monday 28th April – Sunday 4th May.

When you get your appeal envelope please make sure you do something with it as no collector will be coming to your door. Ways you can use the appeal envelope include...

  • post your donation back to us (your stamp will be an extra gift and helps reduce our costs)
  • take your donation to a nearby collection point (mall or supermarket)
  • take your donation to the nearest Salvation Army church (corps), centre or Family Store

You can also donate online, or by freephone 0800 53 00 00
