Addiction Caseworker & Aftercare Worker (Fixed-term)



Salvation Army Bridge Auckland – Auckland Region Woman’s Corrections Facility (ARWCF):

At ARWCF our dedicated team of addiction caseworkers work with clients inside the prison and then support them after they leave.

About the role:

This exciting role involves the provision of assessments, case management, group work, one to one support and liaison with community organizations.

Women who have significant addiction issues are referred to the service by Corrections staff who work closely with our staff to provide integrated care and support within the prison and “outside the walls”.

This is a full-time position (40 hours per week). This is a fixed term role which ends on June 30th, 2018.

Person Specification:

  • Degree and  Registration (or provisional registration) in Addictions or related field i.e. Nursing, Social Work, Counselling or Psychology
  • Clinical Assessment skills
  • Clinical experience with AOD
  • Experience in face to face counselling
  • Experience in group facilitation
  • Ability to work within a team environment
  • Able to work from a bicultural perspective
  • Ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures
  • Empathy with the values and mission of The Salvation Army
  • Valid current work visa, residency or citizenship.
