Alcohol and Other Drug Caseworker

Auckland

Our dedicated team of addiction caseworkers is in need of an additional member to join them in our Auckland Central “Bridge” programme located in Mt Eden, Auckland City.  It may involve some coverage of other sites as required.

This exciting role involves the provision of comprehensive assessments, withdrawal management, case management, group work, one to one supportive interventions and aftercare in the community.

Hours of work are Monday to Friday 08:00 am – 4:30 pm (40 Hrs per week). 

Candidates must have a degree or similar qualification in addictions or related field i.e. Nursing, Social Work, Counselling or Psychology

You must be fully registered or provisionally registered in addictions or related field i.e. Nursing, Social Work, Counselling or Psychology

If you have a commitment to supporting people in their recovery and many of the following attributes we would like to hear from you:

  • Clinical Assessment skills
  • Clinical experience with AOD,  including withdrawal
  • Experience in face to face counselling
  • Experience in group facilitation
  • Ability to work clinically from a “Team” approach
  • Able to work from a bicultural perspective
  • Ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures
  • Empathy with the values and mission of The Salvation Army
