AOD Family Caseworker Position (Part-time)


Our Family/Whanau Support Workers provide support to family/whanau and/or significant others of those impacted by addictions, particularly those entering, participating in, or exiting treatment services.

This exciting role will involve the provision of case management, couples work, one to one supportive interventions and care options for significant others. We are seeking someone who has a commitment and interest in working in this area and has the following skills and experience:

  • Diploma/Degree in Social Work/Counselling, Addiction Studies or related health field
  • Triage and Assessment skills
  • Experience in case management
  • Experience and one to one counselling
  • Ability to work with people of diverse backgrounds and cultures
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Have a willingness to work from a bicultural perspective, having an awareness of the Treaty of Waitangi
  • An ability to be innovative and flexible
  • A clean full car licence

To be appointed in this role, applicants must have NZ residency or a valid NZ Work Permit and give permission for the completion of a satisfactory Police Check.

This is a 32-hour position Monday to Friday based in Christchurch.
