Children and Family Ministries Co-ordinator


About the Role

The Hamilton City Salvation Army is looking for a Children and Family Ministries Coordinator to join our dynamic staff team. The successful applicant will be responsible for inspiring, coordinating and oversighting vibrant children’s and family ministries in alignment with HCSAs Strategic Plan and The Salvation Army’s Territorial Strategic Mission Goals.

The successful applicant will need a range of skills and competencies including:

  • A Soldier of the Salvation Army who is committed to a life of faith and mission (NB willing to wear Salvation Army Uniform and Witness Wear when required)
  • Prepared to be a committed Soldier of The Salvation Army, Hamilton City Corps
  • Have a passion to see children and families develop a love for God and reach their potential in Christ
  • An ability to offer pastoral assistance, to pray, to explain the Christian Gospel and to lead children and their families to salvation in Jesus Christ  
  • A big picture thinker who can creatively design a vibrant ministry for the future
  • An ability to oversee and grow this ministry in a way that seamlessly transitions children into youth ministries. 
  • Ability to coordinate a number of existing teams to reach their goals
  • An ability to recruit, lead and develop other leaders
  • Ability to prioritise work commitments and adapt to new developments across centre.
  • Ability to maintain and work within Salvationist theology, organisational policies, procedures and practices
  •  Demonstrate maturity in all levels of conduct and personal integrity 
  • Hold a current full driver’s license
  • Available for some evening and weekend work
  • Relevant Ministry/Work experience/qualification 
  • Computer literacy essential
