About The Salvation Army Rangiora Family Store

Situated in the heart of Rangiora, the Family Store is a popular and busy shop. Its purpose is to support the work of The Salvation Army in North Canterbury and provide many with good quality goods at great value. The Family Store has a large team, which works well together.

About the role

The purpose of the Family Store Truck Driver is pick up and deliver donated goods in the Waimakariri district, lead a team of volunteers on the truck, being responsible for the up keep of the truck and make sure all rubbish is disposed of and any other odd jobs that needs to be completed. Reporting to and working with the Family Store Manager daily to be efficient of time and resources. This position is a permanent part time position, 20 hours a week, Monday to Friday 9:00 am to 1:00 pm.

On a daily basis the role involves:

  • Picking up and delivering goods in the district,
  • Ensuring rubbish is taken away,
  • Ensure the up keep of the Family Store vehicle
  • Lead a team of volunteers during each day.
  • Being able to help with other tasks as required.

A great way to give back to the community, to be part of a team that receives regular training and support from The Salvation Army.

This permanent position is for 20 hours per week.

Person Specification

The successful applicant would need to:

  • Demonstrate Integrity and initiative
  • Possess good communication skills
  • Be physically fit and strong as lifting is involved
  • Be honest & reliable
  • Have a clean full drivers licence
  • Have good time management
  • Have a good knowledge of the area would be an advantage
