About the role

We are looking for an NZ registered Social Worker to work with families in our four emergency houses.  This newly created position involves working with families providing comprehensive assessments, case management, one to one supportive interventions and connecting families to our church/Corps.  This is a permanent part-time position, 20 hours a week.    

 About you

We would like to hear from you if you have a commitment to supporting families  and have many of the following attributes:

  • The ability to relate positively and communicate effectively with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures
  • Excellent verbal, written and computer skills
  • The ability to be self-motivated and work both independently and as part of the team
  • Experience within the New Zealand social work environment and context
  • Have an understanding of the Salvation Army Community Ministries Model of Care
  • Proficiency in client assessment and case management skills
  • Able to contribute to the mission of the Salvation Army

Applicants must have NZ residency and hold a clean, full driving licence.  A Police check will be required as part of the application process.
