Mission Assistant

Auckland (Mt. Eden & Waitakere)

Auckland Bridge provides a safe, integrated, high-quality treatment service to people whose lives have been affected by the harmful use of, or dependency on alcohol or drugs. People attending the Bridge are supported, challenged and encouraged to make positive changes in their lives so that they can find hope, direction, peace and stability. 

We are looking for the person God is calling into this newly created position. Is this you? 

If so, you will demonstrate:

  • A strong personal relationship with Jesus and a commitment to the vision and mission of The Salvation Army, Auckland Bridge
  • Be a soldier of The Salvation Army
  • Experience in an AOD/Recovery Church setting or a strong desire and ability to build skills in this ministry area
  • The ability to work as part of an enthusiastic and committed team
  • The ability to build relationship/manaakitanga 
  • A pastoral heart for people in recovery and for staff working in this field
  • Good administrative and communication skills
  • Experienced in presenting or running a group

This is a full-time position to support the Mission Director and actively work with those in treatment. This will require a flexible approach as there is some out of normal hours work and may include an on-call commitment.
