About the Centre

Epsom Lodge is an 85 bed Supportive Accommodation residential facility in Auckland for men and women. Our clients have emergency housing needs often (but not always) accompanied by addiction, mental health and relationship issues. We provide 12+ week’s emergency accommodation and support to find suitable long-term accommodation and begin the journey of addressing other life goals.   We provide 3 meals a day and special occasion morning/ afternoon teas. We also occasionally cater for visitors and staff functions.

About the role

Reporting to the Catering Manager, this role is for 24 hours per week minimum with the possibility of more hours during times of annual leave etc. The role includes providing healthy, nutritious and tasty meals for our clients and staff on duty with an attention to detail required particularly for those with special dietary requirements.

  • Planning menus and cooking for up to 100 people at one sitting.
  • Public Holiday work required in addition to covering weekday staff for annual leave and sick leave by negotiation.
  • Care and compassion required for our residents

Person Specification

  • Fully qualified chef/ cook.
  • Experience in large scale cooking required ie Army/Navy, residential care facility or restaurant.
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety requirements, Food Plan requirements and Infection control procedures.
