Saturday Retail Assistant


The Salvation Army Family Store Feilding is looking for a Saturday Retail Assistant.

We are looking for a person to fill this position which involves working with the manager in running an efficient and effective store.

This role involves providing excellent customer service to our retail customers and to our donors.

Hours of work are 9.30am – 1.30pm (Saturdays).

Responsibilities include:

  • Be responsible for opening and closing the store
  • Running the shop area on Saturday including operating the till.
  • Sometimes taking enquiries from the public about our other services. (Playgroup, Foodbank, Community Ministries)

Person Specification:

We are looking for someone who:

  • is enthusiastic about contributing within a community-focused charitable organisation?
  • is able to work with and take direction from the store Manager
  • is adaptable and able to co-operatively work with all staff and volunteers.
  • has good communication, people, and organisational skills
  • has a strong customer service focus
  • is well presented
  • has the ability to relate to people from a diverse range of backgrounds, be sensitive to ethnic, cultural, social issues
  • has some retail experience would be helpful
