Youth Ministries and Community Outreach Coordinator (Ministry Position)

About the role

This is a full-time ministry position being established to develop and grow the youth ministry in Tawa Corps, and to extend the engagement and relationships of Tawa Corps into the community.

Key functions of the role include:

  • Develop and maintain Tawa Corps Youth Ministries leadership team
  • Ensure that all youth are engaged in discipleship and helped to reach their full potential in Christ through mentoring, exciting youth events and mission opportunities. 
  • Work with Corps Officer to plan and execute Night Church
  • Develop leaders for youth and young adult life groups
  • Ensure ongoing pastoral care for all youth and young adults at Tawa
  • Be part of the staff team responding to needs of the community. 
  • Assist with maintaining and strengthening the capacity of the food bank to meet demand
  • Grow the mission opportunity within the Family Store
  • Make connections with schools in the local community

Person Specification

Previous successful experience leading in Youth Ministry and / or Community development. 

A relevant tertiary youth ministry or community development qualification is desirable.

As a ministry position the successful applicant will be a uniformed senior soldier, or willing to commit to this within 6 months of employment. 

Additional skills and experience which would add capacity to Tawa Corps’ ability to achieve its mission (e.g. technology skills; creative ministry strengths, Preaching; administration or marketing) would strengthen the application.
