Positional Statements

The Salvation Army prepares Positional Statements that briefly state the view of the organisation on moral or social issues. These statements are not binding on Salvationists but are published for their guidance and for the information of the general public.

The Salvation Army, New Zealand, Fiji and Tonga Territory has 13 published positional statements, as follows:

• Multi-faith Events 
• Occult
• Responsibility for All Creation
• Social Justice

The Salvation Army International has also published positional statements, as follows:

Moral and Social Issues Council of The Salvation Army in New Zealand

The role of the Moral and Social Issues Council (MASIC) is to study and formulate responses on significant moral, religious and social issues. Its purpose is to help empower The Salvation Army to take a proactive stance on such issues and to assist and support Salvationists in their decision-making in daily life.
