Amplify Creative Arts Camp
Let God amplify your talents to strengthen Salvation Army mission!
The eight-day Amplify Creative Arts Camp is a not-to-be-missed chance to emerge, express and create for Salvationists aged 16 to 30 years with a passion for the creative arts. It’s also a great opportunity for corps to develop leaders who will strengthen their local gospel arts scene.
Registration has now closed - please contact the Creative Ministries Department to apply for late entry. Most teaching streams have upper limits for registrations, so get in early or you might miss out on your first choice.
Some areas of study will require preparation prior to camp. This includes music rehearsal (brass and vocalists), devising a 3-minute film treatment (filmmakers), and drafting some writing samples (writing).

Friday 15 to Saturday 23 January 2010
Forest Lakes Camp, Otaki
A public concert to showcase campers’ talents will be held on Friday 22 January.
‘This will be a watershed to inspire a new generation of creative artists in The Salvation Army,’ promises Matthew Pethybridge, Director of Creative Ministries. ‘Amplify is the fuel you need for the person God has shaped you to be!’
More than that, this highly practical camp is deliberately aimed at upskilling Salvationists to be key gospel art leaders in their local corps.
Everyone attending Amplify will be helped to move on in their spiritual journey as disciples who build habits into their lives that direct them towards God and keep them close to him.
Amplify will provide comprehensive training plus performance opportunities. Top tutors and visiting guests are being secured across all learning streams:
Amplify delegates will select one major and two minors. Each major area of study includes 22 hours of contact/rehearsal/creating time. Each minor area of study includes 10 hours.
Some majors collaborate on projects during the week. Actors, for instance, will work with filmmakers to produce 3-minute short films.
The National Youth Band will use Amplify as a major rehearsal opportunity at the start of the year. The popular solo and conducting competitions of previous year’s rehearsal events will still feature.
Those who indicate they’d like to try out for the National Youth Band will be auditioned and if eligible will be accepted into the National Youth Band.
Previous year’s Development Band members and other interested brass players will form a camp band for some indepth (and fun) tuition.
$220. Registration has now closed - please contact the Creative Ministries Department to apply for late entry.
