The Red Shield Appeal

Red Shield Appeal 2010

Sallies Red Shield Appeal 2010More New Zealanders than ever are coming to The Salvation Army for help as the fallout from the economic crisis continues.

Unemployment and reduced incomes are forcing thousands of Kiwis into poverty. Unprecedented numbers of people are coming to us with complex issues such as bankruptcy, mortgagee sales or addictions.

Many of these people previously lived relatively comfortable and self-sufficient lives. It could someone you know – a family member, a friend or a neighbour.

The Salvation Army provides short and long-term support to Kiwis and their families through a wide range of community services. These include food banks, budgeting, parenting and life-skills courses, youth work, addiction treatment, employment training and supportive accommodation.

It’s not about a handout; it’s about helping people get back on their feet and being there for them as they work towards a brighter future. But we need your help to do it.

Red Shield Appeal donations go to our frontline services in your community, enabling us to be there when people need it most.

Please give generously to our Red Shield Appeal. Donate online now or call 0800 53 00 00. Thank you for your support.
