The Salvation Army has been caring for children, families and individuals for over 125 years.
Hunger, homelessness, social isolation, addiction, loneliness, unemployment … when people are facing hardship, we are compelled to do something about it.
We believe in finding practical responses to human needs by tacking social problems and helping people improve their lives in the short and the long term. Our extensive social service network includes food banks, life skills and parenting programmes, budgeting, short and long-term housing, alcohol and drug treatment and problem gambling counselling. We offer intervention for at-risk youth, support for seniors, employment training, court and prison chaplaincy, a Family Tracing Service, and emergency response following natural disasters and other emergencies.
The Salvation Army is an essential force for good in the community. Ours is a heritage of caring, and we continue to refine and expand our services to meet changing times.
Please donate to support our work – there is still so much for us to do.
We greatly appreciate your support to help continue our work in communities throughout New Zealand. Please have a look at some current events and appeals in which you can support Kiwis in need in your community.
