Court & Prison Services

Person in front of a District Court sign

Going to court can be a bewildering and sometimes frightening experience, whether you are a defendant, victim, witness or simply attending to support.

Our Court Officers and Prison Chaplains  want to make your visit to court as easily understood and as non- threatening as possible by offering non-judgmental emotional support, companionship and practical assistance.

Our Court Officers and Prison Chaplains can

  • Explain court procedures and decisions
  • Direct you to the right courtroom
  • Advise where to get legal advice
  • Arrange transport (if safety is a concern), accommodation and food support
  • Arrange counselling and court-ordered alcohol and drug assessments
  • Help you find accommodation when bail addresses are required
