Jeff Farm is a 1932ha farm managed by The Salvation Army that trains (and funds training for) young people for a career in the New Zealand agricultural industry.
> More information about the farm
Mr Edmund Jeff farmed the property before World War II with help from local labour. Times were tough and he was not able to develop the property, so he gifted the farm to The Salvation Army on the provision that the farm be used to train young people for a career in the New Zealand agricultural industry.
In 1995 The Salvation Army the terms of the Trust were expanded with the High Court approving a decision that, while some students would still be trained at the farm, the income could be used to educate young people for a life in agriculture at other approved training establishments.
Applications for assistance will be considered from all young people who want to be trained in and/or further educated in farming. Priority will be given to those who need assistance on account of their financial situation, their existing environment or their state of health.
Applications are closed for this year, please check again in 2010. Any questions can be directed to the Scholarship Coordinator.
