The Salvation Army has released the results of an independent review by LCK Consulting and Vertical Research into its Hauora Programme, which has been helping gang members overcome methamphetamine addiction, to highlight the programme’s huge success.

The Army is fighting a decision by the Ministry of Health not to renew funding of the programme.

Salvation Army Addiction Services National Manager Lieut-Colonel Lynette Hutson says The Salvation Army has received strong support from the wider New Zealand community backing the programme. She is speaking to the Minister of Health and MPs across multiple parties as the Army works to have funding reinstated.
