We were delighted to have so many people take part in Congress 2013. It was a fantastic couple of days and we will report back with highlights soon! One highlight was having General André Cox, joined by his wife Commissioner Silvia Cox, preach at both Congress and Just Action. We also saw the dedication of the Habitat for Humanity 'Just Build' house for a local Auckland family.
Speaking just after his election, General André Cox said, 'I pray that The Salvation Army will be known as being a force for good in the world. I pray that The Salvation Army will be a force for positive change and transformation in the communities in which we serve. And I pray that we Salvationists, no matter what our rank, will live up to the spiritual values that we proclaim - that we will live them out in our lives. And in that way, I know that God will bless and will lead us.'
