Worldwide Prayer Meeting

The General is also encouraging people to join in a weekly worldwide prayer meeting every Thursday morning. This could well be the largest Salvation Army prayer meeting ever! People can pray individually or with each other, in homes, in an office or at their local corps/centre. General Bond writes, ‘With the Army crossing so many time zones, it is conceivable that the Army will be at prayer every Thursday for the whole day. I envision thousands of Salvationists at prayer. Now that’s a mighty prayer meeting!’

Starting from 1 September, Territorial Headquarters will hold a Thursday morning prayer meeting each week (8-8:30 am in Pollard Hall), inviting staff to join with members of Cabinet to pray for God’s continued guidance, wisdom, strength and growth over and in our Army.

Territorial Commander Commissioner Don Bell endorses the General’s call to prayer. He says, ‘Miraculous things happen when God's people humble themselves and pray. The New Zealand, Fiji and Tonga Territory has witnessed a revival over the last several years, which can be directly attributed to faithful prayer in the 24/7 Prayer initiative. General Linda Bond has called each of us to a new worldwide prayer initiative. All over the world territories will be involved in 30 minutes of prayer on Thursday morning. I would invite you to join in this prayer initiative, either individually or corporately, each Thursday morning. Please join with us and watch how God will provide for individual and corporate growth within our international army. As the first territory across the international date line we have an opportunity to set the tone for the Army world.’
