Christmas Appeal 2011

'Feed my family or buy the kids a present?'

This is just one of the tough choices tens of thousands of Kiwis will have to face this Christmas.

Taking positive steps to transform your life can be difficult, and the road to recovery takes time. The extra expenses and social pressures of the holidays add tremendous strain to already fragile finances and emotions. With your support, The Salvation Army is able to be there for these Kiwis, helping them to get through the tough times and offering them some of the seasonal joy many take for granted.

Christmas is always our busiest time. Last holiday season we distributed over 20,000 food parcels, served over 7,500 people at our community meals and gave 2,500 budgeting sessions to Kiwis in need. With the continuing economic uncertainty and the after-effects of the devastating Canterbury earthquakes, the need this year will surely increase.

For those seeking assistance, it takes tremendous courage to swallow their pride and ask for help. But as you can see above, it is through your support that, together, we are able to be there for Kiwis when they need it most.

Please give to our Christmas Appeal. Your choice to give will make an incredible difference.

Thank you for your generosity and support.
