Wattie’s Cans Film Festival

Wattie’s Cans Film Festival

The Wattie’s Cans Film Festival is back—celebrating its 18th year of blockbuster movies in exchange for a can of food per ticket. All can donations go to The Salvation Army, stocking up food banks shelves and helping families that might otherwise go without.

On 9 November, New Zealanders can get involved as Event Cinemas, Hoyts Cinemas and Reading Cinemas (plus some independent cinemas) show a range of films in about 40 participating cinemas around the country. Movies screening in this year’s Wattie’s Cans Film Festival include family favourites like Mr Popper’s Penguins, Spy Kids 4 and Green Lantern.

To get your seat, bring a can of food to swap for a ticket. It can be anything: Spaghetti, Baked Beans, that second can of sliced peaches you got as a two-for-one special. And they don’t have to be Wattie’s cans. And, as a bonus, Wattie’s will match every can donated—can for can!

Last year’s Festival saw over 45,000 cans donated to Sallies. With your help, this year will be even more successful!

So mark your calendar: 9th November. For more details, visit www.watties.co.nz or www.facebook.com/wattiescansfilmfestival
