- Crown Relocations is sponsoring the New Zealand Breakers - Adelaide 36ers game at Auckland’s Vector Arena on 15 November. and is turning the event into a Big Sallie Surprise fundraiser. Their aim is to collect 40,000 donated cans of food as well as another $30,000 worth of non-perishable food items from businesses and the public for Salvation Army food banks.  - A Salvation Army project called DALTA (Deliberate Acts of Love to All) is bringing together people looking for work with Christchurch residents in need of help - opening up training and employment possibilities for dozens of unemployed people.

 - Now in its 20th year, the Wattie’s Cans Film Festival supports The Salvation Army by providing cans of food to those in need. On Wednesday 13 November, Kiwis can see a movie at their local cinema by swapping a can of food for a movie ticket. See www.watties.co.nz for the movies showing and participating theatres.

 - Living in poverty puts intense and relentless pressures on couples and many relationships don’t survive the strain. Ratree and Clifton tell how The Salvation Army’s Positive Lifestyle Programme saved their relationship and kept their family intact.
