The power of community

5 Sep | 2015

If there’s one thing the Canterbury earthquakes taught us, it was the richness that comes through community. After the earthquakes, we immediately saw people pulling together to help each other.

War Cry has been highlighting hospitality, most recently in a series of articles by Coralie Bridle. In this edition, Captain Ross Wardle extends the concept to consider the hospitality churches may or may not show to gay and lesbian people.

Boundless salvation

20 May | 2015

The photo on our cover is of Iraqi Christian Heleen Dawood from December 2014. Heleen is posing in a tented refugee centre in the grounds of Mazar Mar Eillia Catholic Church, which became home to hundreds of Iraqi Christians forced to flee their homes as the Islamic State (ISIL) advanced in Erbil, Iraq.
