The Salvation Army is concerned with the high levels of alcohol addiction, abuse, and alcohol related harm. We believe the provisions of the new Sale and Supply of Liquor Act 2012 literally did not go far enough to effectively reduce alcohol related harm, particularly in relation to alcohol abuse and underage or younger drinkers.
We sincerely hope that the development of these Regulations to bring this new Act into effect will clearly carry strong themes and messages of alcohol harm minimisation and mitigation right throughout its provisions.
