Warehouse Stationery is a key partner of The Salvation Army

Key partnerships are fundamental to the continuing efforts of The Salvation Army in our communities.

Countdown - Countdown is New Zealand’s leading supermarket brand, serving 2.7 million customers every week. Countdown has been a supporter of The Salvation Army for many years with more than 180 supermarkets across New Zealand providing food parcels to food rescue organisations including The Salvation Army. In the last year Countdowns Food Rescue programme donated more than $3.5 million of food to The Salvation Army and other food bank charity partners. Countdown also supports our annual Red Shield Appeal and our Christmas Appeal, and together with their customers, have donated hundreds of thousands of dollars to help supply children and their families with food, clothing and essential items. Kmart logoKmart New Zealand - Kmart is a long-standing partner of The Salvation Army in New Zealand providing thousands of gifts to brighten the lives of vulnerable families each Christmas through the Kmart Wishing Tree Appeal. For 23 years, Kmart stores have collected gift and cash donations from customers and the public which are donated to the Salvation Army to give to Kiwis in need. Since its launch more than 500,000 gifts have been collected, enabling parents and children to experience the special joy of Christmas.  

 

 

 

Wattie's -  Wattie's is a long-standing partner of The Salvation Army in New Zealand. For 23 years, Wattie's has run an engaging national appeal event to encourage the public to donate cans to fill Salvation Army foodbanks prior to the high demand Christmas period, with Wattie's donating their own matched cans up to 25,000. In 2016, Wattie's Cans for Good was launched to replace the long-running Wattie's Cans Film Festival which ran successfully for 22 years in conjunction with the cinema industry. Cans for Good is a national campaign aimed at can collection, creation and education by primary schools and in its first year involved 200 schools and resulted in 92,000 cans being donated to Salvation Army foodbanks. Warehouse Stationery – Warehouse Stationery has partnered with The Salvation Army for eight years providing invaluable support for vulnerable families and at-risk young people through the funds raised from two annual store collections. Funds raised in November provide families with vouchers for back to school supplies, while funds raised in May support young people on a year long development programme called Aspire. Last year more than $140,000 was raised in these two appeals.

 
The Warehouse Group - Each year The Warehouse Group, together with their suppliers, raises significant funds to support one of  The Warehouse Group's national charity partners at their annual charity dinner. In 2014 The Salvation Army was thrilled to be the recipient of $565,000 raised at the dinner to support the year-long Aspire youth development programme. Thanks to the substantial funds raised, more than 565 at-risk young people completed the programme at centres all around the country. Find out more about Aspire here. In 2015, The Salvation Army in partnership with Variety - The Children's Charity, received $725,000 from the dinner to support a new programme called Kiwi Next Generation designed to support young people not in education, employment or training. Resene - Resene's partnership with The Salvation Army helps fill foodbanks in the critical back to school period and adds colour to the lives of Kiwis through their innovative Hunger for Colour appeal. Over three years, the month long campaign run in February has seen Resene stores swap more than 110,000 Resene test pots of paint for food cans to fill Salvation Army foodbanks. In another creative partnership, Resene's Upcycling for Good sees selected designers upcycle furniture and other items from Salvation Army Family Stores using Resene products to create quality items which are donated back to the Family Stores for sale. Crown - The team at Crown are passionate supporters of The Salvation Army providing support to our foodbanks, Family Stores and overseas child sponsorship programme. More than 40% of Crown customers fill Giving Back boxes prior to moving, donating thousands of household items each month which are delivered by Crown to The Salvation Army to give to those in need. Johnson and Johnson Medical - Johnson and Johnson Medical has provided financial support to improve the lives of women and their families through the support of The Salvation Army's Life Skills for Women programmes being run in Auckland, Rotorua, Wellington and Christchurch. The support provided by Johnson and Johnson Medical last year helped more than 120 women complete a 10 week group-based programme designed to develop self-awareness, skills and confidence to strengthen the lives of them and their children.

Smith & Smith  - Smith & Smith, New Zealand's leading vehicle glass repair company, is an enthusiastic new partner for The Salvation Army. In the first year, Smith and Smith's highly engaged national network of charity champions, has raised valuable funds from a wide range of national, branch and team level fundraising initiatives and support of Salvation Army events such as 14 Hours Homeless.  

OCS - Facilities management service provider OCS is an enthusiastic new partner for The Salvation Army that has provided energetic support for a wide range of Salvation Army initiatives including foodbanks, 14 Hours Homeless and more. OCS's 2016 annual conference included a charity component which raised valuable funds to support The Salvation Army. Find out more here.  

 

Fonterra - Fonterra gives generous donations of milk products to Salvation Army food banks throughout the year. Fonterra also converts waste products into compost which is supplied free to community gardens in Auckland including the Army’s Community Garden in Manukau. Rich in nutrients, the compost is used to produce a range of fresh vegetables for Salvation Army food parcels. Workers in the garden also learn the skills needed to successfully grow healthy plants for their community.

 

Nestle Logo Nestle – Over the past few years Nestle have provided over 3 million dollars worth of food for Salvation Army food banks around the country.
