Alcohol and Drug Caseworker


The Salvation Army Waikato Bridge Programme for Alcohol and Drug treatment is seeking to appoint a suitably qualified addictions counsellor to a Caseworker position within our Residential Programme based in Hamilton. The ideal candidate will have the following

  • Tertiary Alcohol & Drug qualifications or qualifications in a closely related field such as social work, psychology, nursing.
  • DAPAANZ professional Registration or working towards obtaining
  • experience in group facilitation and case management in the Alcohol & Drug field
  • experience in carrying clinical workloads
  • an awareness of the requirements of the treaty of Waitangi and be willing to work from a bi-cultural perspective
  • ability to work with people from other diverse backgrounds and cultures.
  • ability to work within a team environment and also independently when required
  • an empathy with the overall Mission of the Salvation Army – Caring for People, Transforming Lives, and Reforming Society

This is a full time permanent position of 40 hours per week. To be appointed in this role, applicants must have NZ residency or a valid NZ Work Permit and give permission for the completion of a satisfactory Police Check.
