Alcohol and Drug Part Time Caseworker

The Salvation Army Waikato Bridge Programme for Alcohol and Drug treatment is seeking to appoint a suitably qualified addictions counsellor to a Caseworker position within our Residential Programme based in Hamilton.

The ideal candidate will have the following:

  • Tertiary Alcohol & Drug qualifications or qualifications in a closely related field such as social work, psychology, nursing;
  • Drug and Alcohol Practitioners’ Association Aotearoa – New Zealand (DAPPANZ) professional Registration or working towards obtaining;
  • Experience in group facilitation and case management in the Alcohol & Drug field;
  • Experience in carrying clinical workloads;
  • An awareness of the requirements of the Treaty of Waitangi and be willing to work from a bi-cultural perspective;
  • The ability to work with people from other diverse backgrounds and cultures;
  • The ability to work within a team environment and also independently when required;
  • An empathy with the overall Mission of the Salvation Army – Caring for People, Transforming Lives, and Reforming Society.

This is a permanent part time position with hours to be negotiated with the successful candidate. To be appointed in this role, applicants must have NZ residency or a valid NZ Work Permit and give permission for the completion of a satisfactory Police Check.
