Alcohol and Drug Service Addiction Practitioner

The Salvation Army Bridge, Wellington

The Salvation Army Bridge Wellington currently has a vacancy for a suitably qualified and experienced Addiction Practitioner with our programmes located in the Hutt Valley. We are a major player within the NZ Addiction Services sector, and you will become part of an International Organisation.

This is a full-time role, and some evening group work will be required. Experience in group work and 1-on-1 practice is desirable. Applicants should have experience in an addiction treatment setting. 

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Excellent clinical judgement and strong clinical boundaries;
  • Experience in group facilitation;
  • Skills in Drug and Alcohol Assessment;
  • A diploma, degree or equivalent in Addiction Studies;
  • DAAPANZ registration or be working towards registration;
  • Skills to maintain informative and up-to-date online records;
  • Proficiency in computer IT and data base systems;
  • Sound understanding of Maori Cultural Principles and philosophies;
  • Skills in co-ordination and in administration;
  • A full NZ Drivers Licence (essential).

Applicants will need to be comfortable working within the philosophy and values of the programme as an expression of the Christian Social Service mission of The Salvation Army. Successful applicants will be required to undergo police vetting.
