Our clients are looking to make a change in their lives. While they come from any culture, socioeconomic group, ethnicity, gender or sexuality, we are often working with those from minority groups who have been subjected to judgement and trauma.

We are looking for a qualified AOD (Alcohol and Other Drug) caseworker. This position is full time, Monday to Friday based in Manukau.

The hours are 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday to Friday.

The successful candidate must have a professional approach, be registered or working towards full registration and be an excellent communicator, confident to facilitate sessions with clients in both group and in one-on-one sessions.

Auckland Bridge services are supplied across sites in Waitakere, Mt Eden, Manukau, as well as short-term treatment and AOD respite in partnership with Ember in Manurewa.

Person Specification

  • Qualified and registered professional;
  • Experienced working with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures;
  • At least 1 year clinical experience working with clients from AOD;
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal;
  • Preferred experience in group facilitation or training;
  • Ability to work independently or  within a  multidisciplinary environment;
  • Able to work from a bicultural perspective; 
  • Flexibility, problem solving skills and strong professional boundaries;
  • Empathy with the values and mission of The Salvation Army.
