About the Centre

Royal Oak Community Ministries is tasked to provide social service support to the community and wider Salvation Army in the central Auckland area; this includes emergency housing, social work support, financial mentoring, counselling and welfare assistance.

About the role

Royal Oak Community Ministries is a busy Centre and the role requires flexibility and empathy, with a heart for The Salvation Army’s mission in central Auckland.

We are looking for a go getter with a minimum of three years’ experience in business administration, who is highly organised, adaptable, proactive and takes initiative.  Your outstanding interpersonal skills will see you quickly build relationships with all types of employees and management.

Key tasks

  • Payroll;
  • Setting, monitoring and presenting financial budgets;
  • Financial reporting and processing;
  • Office administration;
  • Human resource administration.

Person Specification

  • Accounting and Bookkeeping experience essential;
  • Strong administrative skills;
  • Previous payroll experience an advantage;
  • Experience with Microsoft office and the ability to learn software programs easily;
  • Strong written and verbal communication and negotiation skills;
  • Strong initiative and the ability to focus on opportunities and solutions;
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to adapt and meet deadlines;
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
