This exciting role will provide you with the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of clients who struggle with addictions.

It is a 40 hours per week role, Monday to Friday 8:00 am – 4:30 pm.

About the role

This role will be working as part of a team providing care for clients in addiction.  You will uphold the values and mission of The Salvation Army.

Key tasks:

  • Provision of comprehensive assessments;
  • Treatment case management;
  • Group work;
  • One-to-one supportive intervention;
  • Facilitating after care planning.

Person Specification:

  • Experience in case management;
  • Can work with people of diverse backgrounds and cultures;
  • Experience in group work and one-to-one counselling;
  • Can work in a team environment;
  • Have a willingness to work from a bicultural perspective, having an awareness of the Treaty of Waitangi;
  • Empathy with the values and mission of The Salvation Army;
  • Full Drivers Licence;
  • Registered AOD (Alcohol and Other Drugs) Practitioner or Degree in Addictions or related field i.e. Nursing, Social Work, Counselling or Psychology.
