About the Family Stores
The Salvation Army operates second-hand stores across NZ to assist in achieving the mission of The Salvation Army at the local and regional level and to facilitate meaningful engagement with our faith-based communities. The Linwood Family Store is part of a cluster of stores in the Christchurch East/North area. The store building is unique in that it has been built by fitting out five shipping containers. The store being located on the same site as The Salvation Army Linwood church building lends itself to a “one stop shop” for the community.
About the role
This position will lead a dedicated team of staff and volunteers to sort and sell donated goods to the general public at our Linwood Family Store, with the aim of providing a significant source of funding for the work of The Salvation Army in the community.
The Team Leader will work closely with the Area Manager to achieve regional sales targets by ensuring that goods are priced and displayed appropriately. This position is responsible for the efficient running of the family store and making it a great place to work for our volunteers and staff.
The family store provides a vital interface with the wider community and public and we want to ensure that people love coming in and buying our stock of donated goods and that they feel welcomed and have a great experience, so they want to come back to shop again or donate goods to The Salvation Army.
