About this role:

We are looking at fill a vacancy in our Kaiwharawhara Family Store.  We are requiring a passionate person who can inspire a team to hit store KPI’s. The role requires a keen eye for detail and an ability to work with a high volume of stock. The ability to meet targets under pressure whilst maintaining a composed temperament in which to manage and lead your team is vital. The role will be responsible for leading both paid employees and volunteers in a very competitive market. We are looking for someone who will give strong points of difference for our customers to shop in this high performing store through strong leadership.

The role involves:

  • Leading a team of employees and volunteers
  • Ability to meet store targets in Retail and Stock Processing.
  • Creating a positive store culture
  • Pricing in line with Salvation Army Pricing system
  • Implementing Salvation Army process and procedures
  • Ability to hold store meetings

Person Specification

The successful applicant will have a range of skills and competencies which include:

  • Active, friendly, “hands-on”, team focused leader.
  • Ability to lead in a fast-paced environment.
  • Able to follow standard Process and Policy requirements of The Salvation Army
  • Well-developed staff management skills including general HR knowledge.
  • Willingness, commitment, and passion to work in accordance with The Salvation Army Mission and Values.
  • Health & Safety policy awareness
  • Able to work Public Holidays as required
