Financial Administrator

The East City (Howick) and Flat Bush Centres provide services and community support to the residents of East Auckland. The financial administrator will support both centres with vital financial and payroll activities.

About the role

The Financial Administrator will be working with East City (three days a week) and Flat Bush (one day a week) administering both Centres financial and payroll processes. Specifically, this role will be responsible for the following core duties:

  • Preparing annual centre budgets
  • Processing all financial transactions, including invoices, reconciliations, and insurance claims for both centres
  • Analysing and reporting on finances regularly
  • Administering HR processes associated with recruitment, payroll, and the maintenance of personnel records

This is an opportunity to work with both an established and newly established centre and to support in a vital way the work that The Salvation Army does in the community.

This permanent position is for 30 hours per week.

Person Specification

We are seeking someone who:

  • Experience in financial and payroll administration in the NGO or the not-for-profit sector
  • Understands the importance of systems and processes
  • Has a track record of consistently meeting in-moveable deadlines
  • Planning and organisational skills
