Hutt City Corps exists to bring people into a life changing relationship with Jesus Christ.

Our Community Ministries Team is committed to providing a professional service and caring for our community.  We have 8 houses for families in our intensive parenting programme and 4 emergency houses.  We also have a foodbank which provided 1,500 food parcels last year.

About the role

We are looking for someone experienced in tenancy management and property maintenance and who can assist in the collection and storage of food for the foodbank.  The position involves a wide range of practical skills and liaison with a range of people. 

This is a newly created role and a permanent full time position, 37.5 hours a week or this role could be split into two part-time positions for two people.   

  • Housing Tenancy Support - 20 hours per week
  • Foodbank Support - 17.5 hours per week (over at least 4 days of the week). 

About you

We would like to hear from you if you have experience in tenancy management and many of the following attributes:

  • The ability to relate positively and communicate effectively with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures;
  • Experience in property maintenance;
  • Good verbal, written and computer skills;
  • The ability to be self-motivated and work both independently and as part of the team;
  • Excellent time management skills;
  • Able to manage regular lifting;
  • Ability to contribute to the mission of the Salvation Army.

Applicants must have NZ residency and hold a clean, full driving licence.  A police check will be required as part of the application process.
