How do I apply for International Service?

INQUIRIES REGARDING THE FOLLOWING OPENINGS SHOULD BE DIRECTED THROUGH NORMAL CHANNELS WHICH INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING:

 

  • Complete the Forms. ‘Notification of Officer (or Non-Officer) Availability’ and ‘Undertakings’. This is found in the Orders and Regulations for Officers on International Service in Appendix 5. Your territorial office which supplies this can provide you with the O & R.
  • Submit the forms to your territorial headquarters. Your Territory Headquarters should submit all applications to International Headquarters together with your territory’s recommendation. (See O & R for International Service, Appendix 5, forms, ‘Notification of Officer Availability’.)
  • Wait for confirmation from International Headquarters that your application has been received. Once you have received this confirmation, know that your offer is being carefully considered alongside the global needs of the Salvation Army.

Finland

 

Officers or soldiers to lead Swedish speaking Temple Corps, or several Finnish speaking corps. Finnish or Swedish language skills essential. Suitable also for family with children or for the Swedish speaking Corps (a) retired officer(s) who would be willing to serve one or two (or more) years.

 

Urgent

Occupational Therapist or Physiotherapist

 

Ghana

 

Begoro Rehabilitation Centre. The person should have experience working with children, especially children with cerebral palsy, and be able to work alongside the local therapists and train them in current techniques used abroad for the benefit of children.

Regional Youth and Children Leader

 

Latvia

 

Youth and Children Leader is responsible for supporting officers in the spiritual development of children and young people in the corps in Latvia Region, as well as in the organisation of youth and children’s events, weekly camps during the school holidays, and summer activities (like hikes). Suitable for a single officer or a committed soldier. English as a native or second language, being ready to work via translation and learn some basic Latvian. Available NOW and until September 2023.

Papua New Guinea

 

School Administrator for a large Salvation Primary School (750 pupils) in Lae. Suitable for Officer or Lay personnel (married or single), English speaking. An educational background is an advantage, but not a requirement. Good management and administration skills essential. This position available from June 2023.

School Administrator for a large Salvation Primary School (1000 pupils) in Port Moresby. Suitable for Officer or Lay personnel (married or single), English speaking. An educational background is an advantage, but not a requirement. Good management and administration skills essential. This position available from January 2024.
