The Salvation Army Bridge Programme – Wellington, currently has a vacancy for a suitably qualified and experienced Mobile Family Whānau Worker with our programme located in Newtown, Wellington.

This role is a mobile role travelling to cover 5 DHB’s - Capital and Coast, Hutt Valley, Mid Central, Wairarapa and Wanganui regions, supporting family and whānau of clients experiencing substance use harm who are on, or have recently completed our residential programme. The ideal applicant will be professional, comfortable with the home-visiting context with families, whānau and or individuals. This role requires excellent rapport building skills, creativity, comfort with independent work and time management skills.

  • Previous experience working in the mental health and addiction sector (preferred), but if you are experienced working with family and whānau in other contexts we would like to hear from you;
  • A Professional Registration (DAPAANZ or equivalent);
  • Full clean NZ driver's licence;
  • The ability to see potential in people;
  • The ability to thrive in a challenging and ever-changing environment;
  • Strong professional boundaries;
  • The ability to use IT systems confidently.
