Hours: This role is Monday to Friday.  The Practice will be open from 9.00am to 5.00pm, but we are open to someone doing either full or part time.

Salary Band: The likely salary for this role will fall between $125,000 to $170,000 per annum (based on full time), depending on the experience of the candidate. 

About the Salvation Army Hauora Service

The Salvation Army Health Service is the first of its kind for the Salvation Army and we are really excited about it! This practice is the central location for medical assistance and assessment for members of our vulnerable community and at a time when health and wellbeing may not have been accessible or possible for them.  The main client base will be those who come to us via our supportive housing at Epsom Lodge and our Bridge programme (drug and alcohol rehabilitation).

About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for a committed and passionate Nurse Practitioner to join our newly established practice. As a Nurse Practitioner, you will be a Registered Nurse with Nursing Council New Zealand with Nurse Practitioner endorsement.  You will be working alongside a GP and a team of skilled nurses, an experienced administration team and supported by a dedicated Practice Manager.  You will be excited by and strive to achieve our mission of caring for people, transforming lives and reforming society.

Key tasks

  • Provide high quality, holistic and convenient healthcare services 
  • Improve healthcare access to the practice population
  • Support and develop new models of care
  • Integral to the development of interdisciplinary teamwork keeping the patient in the centre of care
  • Take accountability for differential diagnosis and prescribing decisions based on nursing assessments
  • Provide clinical nursing leadership, building and extending existing nursing skills and knowledge within the Practice

Person Specification

  • At least 4 years post graduate experience
  • Registered Nurse with Nursing Council New Zealand with Nurse Practitioner endorsement.
  • Master’s in health science (Advanced Nursing)
  • Holds a current practising certificate without conditions
  • Good cross-cultural understanding
  • Non judgmental and accepting of people from all walks of life
