About the role

We are looking for a part time (24 hours a week) General Nurse with experience, to be based at Mt Eden Bridge but providing nurse cover to Waitakere and Manukau bridges, working with a dedicated multidisciplinary team and under the direction of a new Team Leader.

This role will provide both challenge and great moments of enjoyment and success to the right candidate.

We are ideally looking for someone to cover Thursday, Friday and one other day – 3 days a week in total.

We are a dedicated Alcohol and Other Drug (AOD) treatment team who provide both residential and day client services to those experiencing alcohol or other drug problems.

Person Specification

If you have a sense of humour and commitment to supporting people to change and have the following attributes we would love to hear from you:

  • Registered to practice as a general nurse in New Zealand with a valid NZ annual practicing certificate, having achieved a minimum Level 2;
  • Experienced working with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures;
  • Preferred clinical experience working with clients from AOD;
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal;
  • Preferred experience in group facilitation or training;
  • The ability to work independently or  within a  multidisciplinary environment;
  • Able to work from a bicultural perspective.  

To be appointed in this role, applicants must have NZ residency or a valid NZ Work Permit and give permission for the completion of a satisfactory Police Check.
