The Salvation Army Te Ope Whakaora is a world-wide evangelical Christian church and human service provider that assists over 120,000 New Zealanders every year providing a wide range of community services, such as food banks, family stores, early childhood centres and addiction treatment centres.

Corporate partnerships are fundamental to the continuing efforts of The Salvation Army in our communities. They are honoured to have a significant number of partnerships with businesses throughout New Zealand, which range in size from large national corporates through to locally based businesses. Each of these partnerships is valued and nurtured.

Reporting to the Corporate Partnerships Manager, the Relationship Manager will develop and manage partnerships with corporate entities, with three broad areas of responsibility:

  • The effective ongoing development and management of a portfolio of national corporate partnerships
  • Engaging new partners from the research and proposal stage through to managing the ongoing elements of the partnership day-to-day
  • Coordination and oversight of the delivery of national corporate fundraising events, appeals and activities

Person Profile:

Experience of previous corporate relationship management experience, preferably in a fundraising context

  • Ability to identify and develop potential new opportunities
  • A track record of success in, and commitment to, building and maintaining exceptional relationships with a wide range of stakeholders
  • A strong team player
  • A self-starter, driven and highly self-motivated
  • Ability to plan, manage and prioritise workload and time effectively
  • A consultative and open style with a ‘no surprises’ approach
  • Very highly developed written and oral communication skills, including strong attention to detail
  • A keen interest in supporting the mission and values of The Salvation Army
  • A full New Zealand drivers’ licence (a vehicle is provided)
