About the Royal Oak Community Ministries

Royal Oak Community Ministries provide individuals and families with food parcels, budgeting advice, life skills and parenting courses, social work, counselling and transitional housing.

About the role

The purpose of this position is to provide leadership and management to the Social Service Team.  You will report to the Director and have working relationships with the wider CM Team.

In this role you will be leading a small, dynamic and cohesive team of Social Workers, Support Workers and Counsellors to enable coordinated delivery of services and professional practice. You will provide day-to-day leadership of the Social Work team and have a small case load. This challenging role will see you consolidate your practice skills with your leadership skills.

You will be responsible for ensuring service provision is delivered to a high standard whilst building relationships with the local community, and supporting your team in their development.

If you are an experienced Social Work clinician with experience in leadership and service development we would love to hear from you.

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

Proven operational and people management experience;

  • The ability to develop and maintain relationships in the community;
  • Outstanding communication and people skills;
  • A recognised Social Work qualification – membership with Social Workers Registration Board New Zealand (SWRB NZ);
  • Able to work from both a bicultural and multicultural perspective;
  • Strength based practice principles.
