Hours:  Full Time -Permanent: 40hrs. per week – Monday to Friday 8.30am to 5pm and some on-call duties are required.

About the Department/Operation/Programme

The Salvation Army Supportive Accommodation team is committed to providing a professional service and care to our community by supporting clients secure a long-term accommodation. This exciting role involves working with individuals and families providing comprehensive assessments, case management, and one-to-one supportive interventions.

Technical / Professional Qualifications

Essential

  • A strong understanding of, and a heart for, social justice issues.
  • Hold a clean full driving licence.
  • Hold a NZ-recognised Social Work qualification.
  • Full registration as a NZ Social Worker.

Experience

Essential

  • Previous Social Work/Welfare and/or social service provision experience.
  • Experience in / understanding of care and protection social work and the dynamics of family violence and mental health.
  • Proven interpersonal skills, able to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
  • Experienced and skilled at working with people from diverse cultural backgrounds.
  • Exhibit competency in computer usage.
  • Experience in doing On Call work
