Salary Band: The likely hourly rate for this role will fall between $27.00 to $28.00.
About the role
We are seeking friendly and approachable people to help keep the lodge running efficiently and effectively. Support workers keep our house running, supporting our whaiora in their day-to-day needs. Support workers must be willing to work within Te Ao Māori competencies. This casual role will be largely a mixture of weekend and evening work.
Key tasks
Client support, including advocacy with external agencies and transport to appointments.
Administering medications.
Writing case notes.
Daily living tasks and housekeeping support.
Administration and office support.
Person Specification
Mental Health/Addictions/Social Service Certificate Level 4 or equivalent.
NZ Full Driver’s License.
Good written and oral communication skills, including ability to write adequate records and reports.
Good computer skills.
Maintains professional standards.
Works well as a team member. Good working relationships with staff and consumers.
Displays good understanding cultural awareness and practice.
Understanding of, respect for, and ability to work with The Salvation Army’s mission, principles, and Christian ethos.
About Epsom Lodge Supportive Accommodation
Epsom Lodge is an 84-bed supportive accommodation residential facility in Auckland for men and women. Our residents have housing needs, often (but not always) accompanied by addiction, mental health and relationship issues. We provide 12+ weeks emergency accommodation, support and after care to assist in finding suitable long-term accommodation and begin the journey of addressing other life goals.
