About the Programme

Epsom Lodge is an 84 bed Supportive Accommodation residential facility in Auckland for men and women. Our clients have emergency housing needs often (but not always) accompanied by addiction, mental health and relationship issues. We provide 12 or more weeks transitional accommodation and support to find suitable long-term accommodation and begin the journey of addressing other life goals. 

About the role

This position is fulltime shift work – the successful candidate must be available to work Monday 7:30 am – 4 pm, Tuesday - Friday 3:30pm – Midnight.

  • Supporting tangata/people in a residential facility in a client focused manner;
  • Encouragement with daily activities such as transport, cleaning, duties, health and wellbeing;
  • Training and group supervision offered and encouraged.

Person Specification

  • Level 4 qualification or greater in Mental Health and/or Addictions casework
  • Must have a current Full NZ Driver’s License
  • Experience working with clients in a support role
  • Experience and empathy for working with homeless people with mental health or addiction challenges
  • Good physical health
  • Excellent professional boundaries
  • An understanding of and a commitment to upholding the values and mission plan of the Salvation Army.
