We are looking to employ a Part time Tenancy Case Worker who is interested in working mostly with families, who are in need of Emergency housing. This role is part of our community housing team.
The Salvation Army is contracted to MSD to provide short term emergency housing for up to 3 months within one of our community homes and a further 3 months once they move into their own home. The Salvation Army hostel has recently celebrated 120 years of homeless service to the Canterbury community.
You will be based from our Addington site but travel to the families/sites based around the city. You will be focused upon the practical needs of our 16 sites with a “hands on” practical role. This will include oversight of the repairs, tenancy requirements, dealing with landlords, replacement of household items, cleaning team. No day will ever be the same! You will also have a small caseload of families you will be supporting,
Our successful applicant for this role will have at least a Level 6 diploma, or degree level qualification in Mental
Health or AOD or Social Work or Social Services or similar.
At least 2 years’ experience in the areas of Mental Health or Alcohol and Drug, or working with families in crisis, or homelessness will be required. A working knowledge of property/tenancy management would also be needed.
We support Case workers to undertake approved further post grad Cert study, have monthly clinical supervision and maintain registration as part of the employment package.
