The United Nations has set 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as 'an urgent call for action by all countries - developed and developing - in a global partnership. They recognize that ending poverty and other deprivations must go hand-in-hand with strategies that improve health and education, reduce inequality, and spur economic growth – all while tackling climate change and working to preserve our oceans and forests.'

We believe that prayer is the biggest action a Christian can begin with. Will you join us in an urgent call for prayer, as we intercede for women and girls through each of the Sustainable Development Goals?

'Our Gracious, Heavenly Father,

Your Word says that even before we were created, every day and every moment of our lives were written in your book. So where we are today is no surprise to you. That gives us hope that we are not alone and that indeed, you have the whole world in your hands.

Father, we look around us and we see advancements made possible only through your gifts of creativity, innovation and intellect. We marvel at what we can create and often forget that we are all created in your image. Right at this moment, there are women and girls all over the world who continue to suffer discrimination and are excluded from contributing to their economies and communities because of their gender. We have failed to live in equality and have used what you created for good as a reason to treat others differently.

Lord, we remember women and girls who continue to work in unfair conditions and lower wages, who cannot access opportunities in certain ‘non-traditional' and technical industries, who continue to suffer unnecessarily for lack of access to many things we take for granted. We ask that you raise up God-led leaders who will be the beacon of hope for women and girls in these situations. Help those of us who are blessed in not suffering these experiences, to always remember we are called to be the salt and light in this world.

We pray this in Jesus mighty name, AMEN!'
